I have been trying to run a very lean campaign that respects the fact that many of us hate seeing large dollar amounts spent on campaigns when so many programs and departments are having to be cut.  When people are losing jobs and homes, when the economy is in the shape it is in currently, it does not make a lot of sense to spend buckets of money just to try to get elected (read my blog about campaign contributions).


So, we are purchasing materials and getting services locally when possible.  We are trying to be very strategic about which efforts get our funds so that we are getting the farthest reaching impact from the most wisely spent dollars.  We are seeking ways to share who I am and what I will do that are more about volunteer hours and less about checks.


Even so, it still costs money to run a campaign.  If you live in District 2 or if you own a business in District 2, I hope you will consider contributing to the Gregory Z. Smith Campaign.  You can do so by writing a check or by using the PayPal service.
